Denali is a CT-based composer who earned her Bachelor’s in Music Composition at Boston University. During her time there, she had her orchestral and large ensemble pieces recorded by Boston University’s orchestras, Sound Icon, and the MiVos Quartet.
Shortly after graduation, she was selected as one of fifteen mentees in the Society of Composer and Lyricist's' Mentorship Program in New York. She travels into the city to learn from the most active composers and music professionals in the media music industry.
Currently, she is a music instructor at Musicologie New Canaan and Speak Music Stamford. One day she is singing songs to babies, and the next, she is teaching young kids how to compose on notation softwares.
At night, she is a fiddler and vocalist in rock and country bands across the Tri-State area. She adds a folk, country-esque element to popular tunes and can play any song request on the fly.
She is a proud alumnus of the Beta Chapter of Delta Kappa Alpha, a professional film fraternity where its members work on sets and learn about the film industry. She served as the fraternity’s film composer, where she scored Botched (dir. Amanda Hess), a satirical comedy about beauty standards, and Dog Funeral (dir. Chantel Kardous), a vulnerable, coming-of-age story surrounding growing up. She also worked as a composer with Boston University Television (BUTV10), where she scored "Dinner Crawlers" (dir. Noah Beck) Season 34, Ep. 2 of the thriller series, Shadows.
She spent Summer 2023 participating in all four of New York University’s Screen Scoring workshops, where she learned and practiced her craft under the guides of professional composers in the industry. She then went on a Fall exchange program at the Royal College of Music in London, and took private lessons with graduate Screen Scoring professors.
When she’s not writing music, performing in bands, or teaching, she is probably crocheting dolls with her three black cats by her side.
